AI-Assisted Development

You may use AI tools, but you are responsible for the resulting change. Review generated prose and code, verify sources and technical claims, and check that any adapted material may be redistributed. A successful build or an AI review is not evidence that academic content is correct.

Repository guidance

Repository-specific instructions for compatible coding agents live in AGENTS.md and .agents/skills/.

AGENTS.md defines repository-wide rules, protected generated content, academic and licensing constraints, task routing, normal workflows, and completion reporting. Each SKILL.md provides a focused workflow for one area of the project.

Use the skill routing table to choose the specialized workflow. It is the single routing map; individual skills own their task-specific procedures.

Contributor responsibility

In the pull request's AI-assisted work section, name the tools used, describe what they contributed, and explain what you checked yourself. Use Validation and Additional notes to report:

  • uncertainty or material that still requires verification;
  • validation or review steps that were skipped;
  • tools or environments that were unavailable;
  • remaining limitations or claims that need maintainer review.

Do not present unverified material as ready for publication. Never submit fabricated references, and do not send confidential, restricted, personal, or active-assessment material to an AI service.
